Saturday Science and Math Academy (SSMA) - NSBE Jr. Volunteering
The Saturday Science and Math Academy (SSMA) is a pre-college program that has been specifically designed to motivate personal development and excellence in scholastic performance of youth. They keep kids here in Albuquerque busy with projects and field trips that relate to the STEM field.
They need you, NSBE UNM College Students, (all majors needed) to help with assisting the kids in the learning process every Saturday.
We also need volunteers to help teach some Refugee kids in English.
Vex Robotics
Teams of elementary, middle and high school students from across the state will gather at The University of New Mexico on Jan. 27 for the VEX Robotics Competition, sponsored by the UNM School of Engineering.
The competition will be held at the Centennial Engineering Center at UNM.

NSBE 46th Annual Convention

The National Society of Black Engineers 46th Annual Convention (#NSBE46) will take place:
March 25 - March 29, 2020, in San Antonio, TX.
The convention demonstrates NSBE’s commitment to lead the United States in graduating 10,000 Black engineers annually by 2025.
The Annual Convention showcases Black students and professionals who have a passion for STEM, who are high achievers in these fields and who are channeling their dedication to advance their communities and society at large. #NSBE46 will attract more than 10,000 aspiring and practicing engineers, educators, representatives of more than 200 academic institutions, government agencies, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.
The convention will feature high-profile speakers, panel discussions, dynamic workshops, networking sessions, community engagement events, technical and scientific competitions, hands-on engineering and science activities and the premier career fair geared toward African Americans in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
